Trying to plan a wedding while feeling the pressure to make everything perfect. When I was engaged, planning the day became more about staging a performance than celebrating love. When we couldn’t appease everyone’s expectations we couldn’t continue nurturing our connection. In the end, it wasn’t just the wedding that lost its meaning—the relationship did, too.

  • I grew up 2 hours from Yosemite.

I was 16 when I booked my first wedding.
